There is no magic: every speaker, microphone, cellphone, spy bug, hidden camera has in itself a magnetic field: iPhones are equipped with a magnetometer (used by the compass), dontspy can read the data captured by the magnetometer and it report the presence of the magnetic field emitted by spy bugs, cellphones, microphones, metal object, other devices that emit magnetic field, and report it. The reading as to be made close to the object you are searching for.
Transform your iPhone in a magnetic field detector, metal detector or electronic devices detector such as smartphones, spy bugs, microphones and so on!
Note that the app cant distinguish metal object from smartphone, spy bugs from other electronic device, so you will read "found" also in case of the presence of a metal object, so you have to perform the search away from metal objects to have a good result.
Consider that the magnetometer on iPhones is on the upper right, and on iPads in the back top centre.

THIS APP DOES NOT WORK. Disgusted they would charge over two dollars for it.
I should have listen to the first review. It crap , dont work. Scam. Dont waste your money like I did.
Save your money. Biggest rip off ever. I planted mics and cameras to see how accurate it was... Wasnt at all. As a matter of fact, it told me there were bugs where I knew there were none and missed the real ones!
Dont be blinded. This app does not do what it says it does. Tested it with bugs I put it in myself and he couldnt even pick those up.
Excellent tool for monkeying around.
